Membership in these Balint groups is by invitation only. Physician membership has typically included multiple medical specialties. A group also formed to serve the nursing staff of a specialty clinic providing continuity care.  These groups meet once or twice a month throughout the academic year. Some have conferred CME Category I for participation. Physicians' Insurance, a malpractice carrier, has also certified the credit as meeting the Washington state relicensure requirement for risk management training.
